How can I book an appointment?

Appointments can be made by telephone, sending a text or email, any messages left will be responded to as quickly as possible.

How should I prepare for a visit?

Please have an up-to-date list of current medications and nail varnish removed as it damages the instruments, we also need to see the nail as it could hide underlying conditions.

What happens during the first appointment?

The first visit will include a full consultation and listening to your problems, new patient paperwork will be completed which includes a detailed medical history.  A neurovascular assessment will also be completed, explaining all findings and, if required, onward referrals will be made.  Feet will be examined, and treatment carried out, whilst also discussing an ongoing management plan that is individual to each person.

How long is an appointment?

Allow one hour for the first visit and 45 minutes for ongoing visits, although this can vary depending on management plan and treatment needed, but this will be discussed prior to the visit.

What is the benefit of a visit?

Each person has individual requirements, some may have any obvious problems; corns, callus, athletes foot, skin or nail conditions which can be treated/managed during visits, people with diabetes are at risk of certain issues, and it is advisable to have their feet regularly checked, so any problems are detected early.  Some people may be unable to trim their own nails because of arthritis or cataracts, for example, and some recognise how a regular visit from a FHP can improve their wellbeing.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please give as much notice as possible if you cannot make your appointment, if no notice is given, we reserve the right to charge for missed appointments.

Dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism or living with a disability.

When making the booking, please give as much information as possible and all visits will be adapted to personal requirements, with the main aim of making the visit as stress-free as possible, a family member or carer may want or need to be present.  A reminder telephone call can be made if required.

How can payment for treatment be made?

Payment can be made either in cash payments or bank transfers, a receipt will be offered at time of payment.
